Thanks Greg for your kind words. It’s true for me as well. Most of my friends never read my blog but I enjoy being part of the anthropology online community. It’s actually because of you and other fellow bloggers that I do enjoy blogging so much. (Blogging in Norwegian is rather boring as there is no real anthro-community in Scandinavia)
Lorenz, wish you could have been there for the awards simply because I’m also an admirer of what you’re doing. There’s this great far-flung network of people slowly but surely chiseling out a bigger space for anthropology on the net. We all know each other’s work, and I feel like I know them even though we all seldom get a chance to put a face to the user names. Our colleagues and senior anthropologists may not know who we are, but I suspect that we will have a far greater impact on future generations of anthropologists.
Congratulations on the award. It’s well deserved. You do a great job. Greg
