Det kjem eitt og eitt bind, det første skal etter planen komme i løpet av 2004, deretter med 1/2 til 1 års mellomrom inntil 4-5 bind. Berliner Forscher untersuchen die Geschichte der Alltagstechnik in China

Die China-Forschung habe sich allzu lange auf die Ideengeschichte konzentriert. Wie in China die Menschen aber leben, wie sie sich kleiden, ernähren oder fortbewegen, davon wisse man erstaunlich wenig, sagt Mareile Flitsch, Privatdozentin und Leiterin des Projekts “Geschichte und Ethnologie der Alltagstechniken Chinas”.

In Berlin versucht man nun die chinesische Alltagswelt zu kartografieren. Vier noch laufende Studien zu den Bereichen Kleidung, Wohnen, Verkehr und Ernährung loten das Forschungsfeld aus. “Die einzelnen Arbeiten sind bewusst sehr eng gefasst”, sagt die Projektleiterin. Es soll gezeigt werden, wie viele Aspekte zu einem Alltagsphänomen gehören und welchen Einfluss der rasante Wandel Chinas auf sie hat. “Manchmal habe ich den Eindruck, dass die Bettler, die man heute in den Städten sieht, jene Bauern sind, die wir bei früheren Feldforschungen interviewten.”

Tyson Foods Inc. introduced what company officials said would be the largest ad campaign in its history to analysts Wednesday, making major changes in its advertising approach and highlighting its lines of prepared food products.

Bob Corscadden, Tyson’s chief marketing officer, said the company worked with cultural anthropologists to understand the food wants and needs of different demographics to better know how to market its full range of products and highlight the importance of protein as body fuel. >>continue

Basels Integrationspolitik gilt als vorbildlich. Nächste Woche präsentiert die Regierung ein Gesetz, das gar Sanktionen bei Nichtanpassung ermöglicht. Doch nach den jüngsten Gewalttaten von Ausländern bleibt die Bevölkerung misstrauisch. In die Kritik geraten ist somit auch die bis anhin viel gerühmte Integrationspolitik der Stadt. New Research Study about Traditional Folk Knowledge related to Plants in Albania

The overall goal of this project is to provide information, data and instruments to NGOs and policy makers about the persistence of high-quality folk know-hows on local plant foods and herbal medicines, which could be used in the future for promoting and implement eco-touristic activities and for improving bio-cultural conservation and rural development of Northern Albania, especially in the framework of the initiative “Balkan Peace Park” project..
